Post MYP Options
After completing the MYP programme at AAGE, students have several options for their post-16 education.
The IB Diploma programme is offered at two schools in Eastern Jutland, Langkær Gymnasium in Tilst (our partner school) and Grenå Gymnasium in Grenå. Other gymnasiums across Denmark also offer the Diploma programme. The Diploma is a natural progression from the MYP programme, offering a choice of six academic subjects to a high level, an extended essay building on work done in the Personal Project, a Theory of Knowledge course and the Community, Action, Service component. The IB Diploma is widely accepted by all major universities and colleges across the world, in Europe, North America and beyond.
Students who successfully complete the MYP programme at AAGE can also enter Danish high schools to study the STX, HHX or HTX programmes. Students will have an MYP certificate from 2016 and will also have the option to take the Danish afgangsprøve at a neighbouring school if they so wish. This is due to the flexibility in the MYP Next Chapter, starting in August 2014, which will allow time for extra Danish lessons and afgangsprøve coaching in small groups.
High Schools/Sixth Form Colleges abroad
The MYP certificate, which will be awarded to successful AAGE students from summer 2016 onwards, is accepted as a post-16 entrance requirement, not only at IB Diploma schools around the world, but also in many national systems, including the US, India, Japan and the UK.
