The story behind AAGE
Aarhus Academy for Global Education (AAGE) is a product of the fact that the business community in Aarhus expects a significant increase in the number of international employees in future years. It is also an acknowledgement that good international schooling, internationally transferable education and an opportunity to establish a stable life in Denmark are key to international families coming to the greater Aarhus area.
AAGE has been accepted as an International Baccalaureate (IB) Candidate school for the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Middle Years Programme (MYP). AAGE plans to seek for Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP) authorisation in 2015.
AAGE offers an IB inspired education, with English as the primary instructional language, for students from 3-16 years of age. It welcomes both international families and Danish families who consider living abroad and/or wish to provide their children with an unique, high quality, international education. Educators at AAGE aim to develop the potential of each individual student in a stimulating environment of cultural diversity, academic excellence and mutual respect. The aim of all IB programmes is to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world.
Aarhus Academy for Global Education has two campuses
- our kindergarten/pre-school is located in Højbjerg and our primary and middle school is in the central Aarhus area. AAGE is a non-profit organization run and supported by sponsorships from various national and international companies in the area, governmental support from the Ministry of Education, pedagogical guidance from the VIA University of Aarhus and tuition fees.
Everyone involved with AAGE is passionate about making a difference and possess the competencies necessary to offer innovative thinking and commitment in everything we do.
